About the event

On the 10 October 1941 War Office operators from Chicksands were relocated to a new site, Beaumanor Hall, in Leicestershire. They adopted the new name of the War Office Y Group (WOYG) and were tasked with the search and interception of Germany Army communications. Over time it would become the most significant Army signals intelligence interception site in the country and had nearly 1500 personnel. Much of the Second World War site remains and it is now owned by Leicestershire County Council. NSIST has organised this first tour and members are encouraged to come to this site of historical significance.

We can host a group of 20 guests. The venue is accessible. We are looking at the option of afternoon tea.

Make your own way there. £20 for members, £25 for non members.

To book this event, please RSVP and we will send you details of how to pay.
